Client Brief
LH-plc, a leading provider of air conditioning, chiller, and compressor services, undertook a project to repurpose a building within a scientific facility to create lab areas for the client’s scientific team. The refurbishment involved extensive renovations, including the removal of ceilings and rerouting of pipework and cabling, leading to breaches in the walls necessitating fire stopping solutions.
Project Solution
To address the challenges presented by the refurbishment, LH-plc collaborated with EA-RS Passive to assess the breaches on-site and develop a tailored scope of works and quotation. Commencing in January 2024, the fire stopping works were carried out in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
Project Result
The fire stopping team, using certified materials, and following thirdparty accreditation LPS 1531 for passive fire protection installation, effectively sealed cable trays, void areas, and pipework. Despite tight deadlines due to the impending handover of the building, the project was completed successfully, with the team working around newly erected ceilings to ensure compliance and safety.
Part of our project works, the implementation of passive fire protection was an important measure to undertake. From the initial survey through to the installation of fire stopping, EA-RS Passive took the time to thoroughly assess our requirements and work with our project deadlines.
